Manuel (Pete) Arismendi, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born on September 5, 1948 in Brownsville, Texas to Carolina and Albert Arizmendi, Sr.

High school sports were a big part of his life, and he played football for Roy Miller High School Class of 1967.  After graduation, Pete enlisted in the Marine Corps and was sent to Vietnam for a one-year tour.  He was wounded in action and was awarded a Purple Heart.  In retirement, Pete took pride in his support of Miller High School students by creating the Annual Arismendi Scholarship Program for graduates where he required all applicants to know the school alma mater and fight song.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carmen Alvarez. He is survived by his brother Albert Arismendi Jr. (Mary), his sister Maria Elena Arizmendi, his ex-wife Anne Recla Arismendi, children Charles Arismendi (Jackie) and Andrew Arismendi, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Pete is Interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
