⚓ 21.00 — TEACHERS HAVE CLASS ⚓
The Teachers, Mentors, and Educators of Roy Miller High
School
Within the Roy Miller High School Fabulous 60’s Hall of Fame, we now dedicate a special place in honor of the teachers and faculty members who helped shape our lives during the 1960–1969 era.
We have a special place in our hearts for the teachers who did far more than simply “grade us.” They encouraged us, challenged us, guided us, disciplined us, inspired us, and helped prepare us for the road ahead.
Also included within this Hall are the counselors, librarians, sponsors, administrators, band and choir directors, and coaches who also taught in the classroom — all part of the educational family that made Roy Miller High School such a special place in our lives.
But Roy Miller’s teachers did more than teach. They helped create school spirit and lasting memories. Whether sponsoring clubs, supporting student activities, directing organizations, or even participating in pep rally skits and special events, they showed us that learning and laughter could go hand in hand. They had class... and fun.
Though the years have passed, the lessons they taught and the values they instilled continued to serve us well throughout our lives.
This section of the Hall of Fame is respectfully dedicated to those educators and mentors who helped guide a generation of Buccaneers.

Physical Education (PE) Teacher and GRA (Girl Recreation Association) Sponsor
Mrs. Eula Burket taught more than physical education. As a teacher and sponsor of the Girls Recreation Association (GRA), she encouraged teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and school spirit among generations of Roy Miller young women.
Through her guidance, students learned lessons that extended far beyond the gymnasium. She helped develop character, leadership, and lifelong friendships while promoting the values of participation, dedication, and personal growth.
For many Buccaneers, Mrs. Burket's influence was measured not in scores or trophies, but in the confidence and encouragement she inspired in her students - "Girls, It's time to run stadiums!"

He taught players patience, focus, honesty, and self-discipline. Coach Garza helped players understand that success comes from practice, preparation, and learning from mistakes. He encouraged confidence after a bad shot and humility after a great round.
Most importantly, he built teams from an individual sport - teaching players to support one another, represent their school with pride, and always give their best effort.
Great golf coaches like Cookie didn't just develop better golfers—they develop young men of character, one round at a time. ⛳π⚓
She encouraged professionalism, responsibility, and self-confidence, qualities that would benefit her students throughout their lives. Through her dedication and guidance, many Buccaneers gained valuable skills and a greater appreciation for the opportunities that awaited them beyond the classroom. ⚓
