HALLOF HONOR


Ramiro "Ram" Chavez was an inspiration by his hard work and continuing efforts on behalf of the Vietnam KIA's and POW's for the Wall and Hall of Honor. Ram a decorated Vietnam War Veteran for heroism as an Army Medic is known by many as well for the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi, which he started in 1986. Wounded during a fierce battle Ram continued tending wounded soldiers.

He received the Purple Heart for wounds he received during this battle aiding wounded soldiers. For his heroism he was awarded the Silver Star Medal with Combat "V" emblem, Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Army Commendation Medal, he also earned the Good Conduct Medal. Ram's favorite saying when it comes to our KIA's, "it we don't remember them who will."
