THE DUFFLE BAG - ROY MILLER'S ANNUAL
Usually Consisting of twelve members,
the Duffle Bag staff worked hard during fifth and sixth periods in order meet
the several important deadlines. The staff would sell and collected money for over
1,000 annuals, that were distributed to students during Homeroom sometime in May.
The wait for many students was excruciating. Writing copy, laying out pictures,
picture-taking and developing were some of the more specialized jobs. In 1960 the
Duffle Bag received the All-Texas Award with honorable mention, which was one
of the highest awards given at the time. Although the Duffle Bag, edited by
Linda Lowman and sponsored by Mr. Bob Hargrove, received numerous honors and
awards, the staff continually strives to please everyone by improving the
annuals.
