SOPHOMORE, JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEARBOOK PICTURES OF ROBERT AT CORPUS CHRISTI HIGH SCHOOL (NOW ROY MILLER)
HIS LOVE FOR HIS COUNTRY LED HIM TO RE-ENLIST FOR A SECOND TIME
He was serving in Da Nang with a Civil Affairs Group,
helping rebuild sanitary and medical facilities, distributing food and
supplies; however, his mission went beyond duty —
he spent his spare time working with orphans and wounded children.
Robert was in his second enlistment, having rejoined the
Army in 1964 at approximately age 31. His reason, as reported at the time, was
deeply personal —
to show support for the war and in response to those
protesting it.
