Brother, you are not forgotten

I remember that day in Vietnam all to well...it was crushing to all of us to face your death...I remember it all the river crossing, you losing your glasses in the river, the mortars impacting, the fight for every tree line, Pops you were special to all that knew you, we will all have a cold one before guarding the streets up above.

This tribute is meant to honor your memory, Rest in Peace Our Brother - Semper Fidelis!

I was one scared nineteen yr. old when I was assigned to your squad. Papsadora was squad leader. We spent many a night in the same fighting hole. I was with you that day when you were killed in action. When crossing the river that morning you hung onto the radio on my back to keep your head above water. Just before you were hit, I turned around to look where you were and you just smiled. I'll never forget that smile. Rest in peace Pops.
