THEN AND NOW - ROY MILLER VIETNAM VETERAN
Part of my story: Luis Ortega - I graduated from Roy Miller
in 1962 and I ran track for all three years. Three days after I graduated from
Texas A &I with a degree in Mathematics, and a minor in Chemistry and Master’s
Degree from CC State University, I joined the U.S. Navy in 1967. We went to
Vietnam to transport the UDT (underwater water demolition team) what is now
called "Navy SEALS". After I proudly served my country, I was hired ten
days later to teach teaching at Baker Junior High School in Corpus Christi,
Texas. After 9 years at Baker, I transferred to W.B. Ray High School and taught
Chemistry.
Luis is very active at his church, St Patrick Catholic
Church. Luis, we are most proud of your accomplishments - Well Done - Go Navy!
