HALL OF HONOR MEMBERS
It is an honor to induct Vietnam and Vietnam Era Veterans both living and deceased to Roy Miller High School Fabulous 60’s Hall of Honor. It is a recognition long overdue for many of our Alumni who gave a lot, asked for so little, and taught us what courage, honor, and perseverance truly mean. At this time members will be inducted commencing with 1960, 1960, and 1962.
Between 1955 and 1975, millions of our young answered the
call to serve in Vietnam. Thousands faced hardships and adversity that tested
their strength, faith, and hearts. Each one doing their duty not for glory or
reward but for each another. At the end of their tours they returned to a
nation struggling to understand the sacrifices our troops made.
Our Alumni stood tall as they returned home trying to pick up where they
left off, their lives marked by quiet heroism and many coping with a silent
killer - PTSD. All Alumni Veterans honored here, embody the very spirit of
the Buccaneers; courage in the face of challenge, loyalty to their brothers and
sisters, and an unbreakable sense of purpose. Their stories were not only written
in textbooks, but in the hearts of those who lived it.
Today, with respect, gratitude, and pride, we induct our
Vietnam 1960 & 1961 Vietnam Era Veterans into RMHS Fabulous 60’s Hall of Honor. May this honor stand as a lasting
testament to their bravery, their sacrifice, and their unwavering dedication to
country and community.
Welcome home all Veterans. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your example. You are heroes to your community and to your families.
